Matchweek Privacy Policy
Effective date: 17 August 2026
Version: 1.0
1. Who we are
Matchweek is provided by REDSOFT SOFTWARE AND CONSULTANCY LTD, company number 13611086. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Our registered office is Office 403, Screenworks, 22 Highbury Grove, London N5 2ER, United Kingdom.
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to [email protected]. General legal questions may be sent to [email protected], and product support requests to [email protected].
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains how we process information when you use the Matchweek mobile app, visit matchweek.org, contact us, or ask us to delete an account. It also explains the choices and rights that may apply to you. Third-party stores and services may process information under their own privacy notices.
3. Age requirements and younger users
Matchweek is a general-audience service intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use Matchweek. We recognise that users aged 13–17 may need heightened privacy protections. Matchweek is not directed primarily to children under 13, and a person under 13 must not use the service.
If you believe a person under 13 has used Matchweek or provided personal information, contact [email protected] so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
4. Information we process
Matchweek uses anonymous Firebase Authentication when an account is first created. You may later choose to link that account to Apple or Google sign-in. Depending on the sign-in method, we process the Firebase user identifier and account-linking information made available through the chosen provider.
Season progress and app preferences can be stored locally on your device. If cloud sync is enabled, relevant progress, app settings, gameplay events, and account-associated records are stored in Firebase Firestore. We also process Firebase and installation identifiers, device and app information, diagnostics and crash information, and records needed to operate and secure the service.
For purchases and rewards, we process purchase entitlement status, Pulse virtual-currency balances, and rewarded-ad verification records. RevenueCat manages entitlement and Pulse records used by Matchweek. Apple App Store or Google Play processes payment details; Matchweek does not receive your full payment-card details.
If you contact us or submit a website form, we process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, platform, message, and related correspondence. Please do not send passwords, Apple or Google credentials, payment details, or authentication codes.
5. How and why we use information
We use information to create and authenticate accounts, save and sync game progress, provide game features, generate requested simulations, manage purchases and Pulse, show advertising, respond to messages and privacy requests, diagnose faults, prevent abuse and fraud, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.
Where UK or EU data-protection law applies, the legal basis depends on the activity. We may process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests such as operating and securing Matchweek, comply with a legal obligation, or act on your consent where consent is required. Our legitimate interests do not override your rights and interests. Other jurisdictions may use different legal grounds.
6. Advertising and privacy choices
Matchweek uses Google Mobile Ads and Google's User Messaging Platform to support advertising and applicable consent choices. At the initial global launch, the app is intended to request only non-personalised advertisements for every user. We do not describe or enable behavioural advertising, remarketing, or cross-app tracking as part of that launch decision.
Non-personalised advertising may still use contextual information and limited identifiers or device information for delivery, frequency controls, fraud prevention, reporting, and legal compliance. Where a consent or privacy-choice message is required, the available options and consequences will be explained in that message. Legal copy does not itself configure the app or advertising services.
7. AI-generated match scores
When you request an AI-generated score, Matchweek sends matchweek, club, form, strength, and simulation parameters to a server-side Google Gemini service. The user's identity is not included in the model prompt. Authenticated backend systems nevertheless process the Firebase user identifier to authorise the request and apply the relevant Pulse charge.
Generated scores are probabilistic game content and may be inaccurate or unexpected. We use the submitted match information to provide the requested feature and to operate and protect the service.
8. Purchases, subscriptions, and Pulse
RevenueCat is Matchweek's source of truth for purchase entitlements and Pulse virtual-currency balances. It receives identifiers and store transaction information needed to validate purchases, maintain entitlements, restore eligible purchases, and manage Pulse. Apple or Google controls store billing and may act as an independent controller under its own terms and privacy notice.
Deleting a Matchweek account does not end an App Store or Google Play subscription. Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately through the applicable store. Purchase, refund, and transaction records may also be retained by the store or by us where required for accounting, dispute, fraud-prevention, or legal purposes.
9. Website analytics and contact forms
Website analytics operate only in accordance with the consent choices presented on matchweek.org. If you do not consent to optional analytics, the legal pages and contact routes remain available.
Website contact and account-deletion form submissions are delivered to us using Brevo. Brevo processes the submitted contact details and message to transmit the request. Do not put sensitive credentials or payment information in a form.
10. Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers to run Matchweek, including Google Firebase for authentication, cloud data, and diagnostics; Google Gemini for server-side score generation; Google Mobile Ads and UMP for advertising and consent messaging; RevenueCat for purchase entitlements and Pulse; Brevo for website form delivery; and hosting and infrastructure providers for the app, website, and backend.
Providers process information under their applicable contracts and privacy terms. We may disclose information when necessary to comply with law, protect users or the service, investigate fraud or security incidents, establish or defend legal claims, or support a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. Apple and Google may act as independent controllers for their stores, sign-in services, and other activities rather than as Matchweek's processors.
11. International transfers
Matchweek and its providers may process information in countries outside the country where you live, including the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, and United States. Where transfer restrictions apply, we use an available lawful mechanism appropriate to the transfer, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards, and supplementary measures where required. Contact [email protected] for more information about safeguards relevant to your information.
12. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for applicable legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, and dispute requirements. The period depends on whether an account remains active, whether information is needed to provide or secure the service, the type and sensitivity of the record, applicable limitation periods, and mandatory retention duties.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it where reasonably practicable. Deletion from backups and provider systems may take additional time according to secure backup cycles and provider retention rules.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access to or a copy of your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis. These rights may be limited by lawful exemptions.
Send a request to [email protected]. We may require identity verification before acting, and will use information supplied for verification only to handle and protect the request. For UK and EU rights, we normally respond within one calendar month, subject to any lawful extension. You may complain to your local supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
14. Account deletion
You can request deletion without signing in by visiting https://matchweek.org/delete-account or emailing [email protected]. We will reply to verify that the request relates to your account before deletion. Verification protects accounts from unauthorised requests.
After verification, we delete or anonymise account-associated data that is no longer required. We may retain limited records when necessary for legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, security, or accounting duties. Local data may remain on a device until you remove the app or its local data. Account deletion does not end a store subscription; cancel it separately with Apple or Google.
15. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against accidental or unlawful loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, or access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Contact [email protected] if you believe your account or information may have been compromised.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Matchweek, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated effective date and version and provide additional notice where required by law. Earlier published versions will be retained as part of our legal publishing process.
